Red Panda Creature Mark

Objective

The objective of a creature mark is to graphically interpret the chosen animal's unique physical, behavioral, and personality traits using fundamental elements of design. The aim was to make a black and white form using implied lines and utilizing the five inherent forces of the square through point, line, and shape.

After debating my options, I chose the red panda as my animal to focus on because I wanted to portray a unique animal I didn't know much about. I thought a red panda would be an interesting challenge with its color variation and playful expression.

After researching the red panda's nature, personality, and habitat, playful, bushy tail, shy, nocturnal, gentle, curious, and bamboo forest were the descriptive words I chose to base my creature mark off of.

Objective

Using visual problem solving and compositional skills, the interpretive phrase should be reconstructed using typography as image to visibly portray the meaning of the phrase.
